Acceptance of Terms
By using PlayTennis (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. PlayTennis is a free, nonprofit platform that connects tennis players at public courts. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
The Service
PlayTennis provides a digital bulletin board where players can post and join tennis matches at public courts. We do not operate, maintain, or control any tennis facilities. Court availability, conditions, and rules are determined by the facility operators.
User Conduct
You agree to use the Service respectfully and in good faith. You will provide accurate information about your skill level (NTRP rating), show up to matches you commit to, and treat other players with courtesy. We reserve the right to remove users who abuse the platform.
SMS Notifications
By providing your phone number during signup, you expressly consent to receive automated SMS messages from PlayTennis regarding your match activity. Messages include match confirmations, player join alerts, cancellations, and standby promotions. Message frequency varies (typically 1-10 messages per day based on activity). Standard message and data rates may apply.
You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance, or email hello@playtennis.info. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of using PlayTennis. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your phone number.
Disclaimer
PlayTennis is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are a nonprofit volunteer project and do not guarantee uptime, accuracy of court data, or availability of match partners. You participate in matches at your own risk. PlayTennis is not responsible for injuries, disputes, or any issues arising from matches arranged through the platform.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PlayTennis and its volunteers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will note the date of last update at the top of this page.
