Information We Collect
PlayTennis collects minimal information needed to connect tennis players. When you create a profile, we collect your first name, phone number, and self-reported NTRP rating. We do not collect email addresses, passwords, or payment information.
How We Use Your Information
Your first name and rating are displayed to other players so they can find compatible match partners. Your phone number is used exclusively for SMS notifications about matches you have posted or joined, including confirmations, cancellations, and standby promotions.
SMS Communications
PlayTennis uses Twilio to send SMS notifications. When you provide your phone number during signup, you expressly consent to receive automated text messages from PlayTennis related to your tennis match activity. These messages include match confirmations, cancellations, player join notifications, and standby promotions.
Message frequency varies based on your activity. You may receive 1-10 messages per day depending on your match activity. Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier's standard messaging rates apply.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message from PlayTennis. After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message and no further texts. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at hello@playtennis.info.
Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of using PlayTennis. You may use the platform to browse courts and matches without providing a phone number, but SMS is required for posting and joining matches.
We do not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. Your number is only used by PlayTennis to deliver match notifications via our SMS provider (Twilio). Compatible carriers include all major US carriers. T-Mobile is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS). We retain your information only as long as you maintain an active profile. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Location Data
With your permission, we use your device's location to show you the nearest tennis courts. Location data is processed locally in your browser and is not stored on our servers.
Your Rights
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at hello@playtennis.info. We will remove your profile and all associated data within 30 days of your request.
